Ian Cooper (born 2 April 1946) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for St Kilda in the Australian Football League during the 1960s. In a restrospective poll, Cooper was voted best afield (the current-day Norm Smith Medal) in the 1966 VFL Grand Final, by a team of experts. St Kilda won this, their sole senior-level premiership by one point over Collingwood Magpies. Cooper's gangly frame belied his abilities in the tough world of top level footy. He was a good reader of the play, a spectacular mark and accurate kick for goal. His VFL career was cut short by rheumatic fever, although he did have a successful stint with VFA club, Sandringham Zebras, later on in the 1970s, as a leading 100+ goal full forward.

His older brother, Graham Cooper (Australian rules footballer), played for Hawthorn Hawks in the early 60s, appearing in that club's first premiership team.
